Sail Croatia with Active Cruises

We had the most incredible experience on our trip with Peter and Natalia. From the moment we stepped aboard we felt like we were reconnecting with old friends. Everything was beautifully organized, from the smooth sailing and stunning destinations to the delicious meals and warm, thoughtful service. Peter is a fantastic captain —so calm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the sea. We always felt entirely safe in his hands. Natalia is an absolute gem — her hospitality, attention to detail, and incredible cooking made the trip feel luxurious and relaxed all at once. By the end of the trip, it truly felt like we were saying goodbye to friends. They went above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience, and we can’t wait for the chance to sail with them again. Highly, highly recommended!

From booking to actually arriving at the boat, we had very clear instructions and helpful suggestions for our stay. Marin, our skipper & Petra, our host were exceptionally communicative and helpful. The week before, they contacted us to find out our wishes, food requests and gave us clear instructions on how to find them at check in. From the minute we stepped on the boat we were made to feel very at home and relaxed almost immediately. Marin was very considerate, informative and easy to get along with. Petra served us exceptional food both for breakfast and lunch. We will miss them.

This was one of the greatest trips we have ever had! It was our first time on a sailing trip and everything was perfect. Miha was very quick and clear to communicate when making the booking and provided detailed booking information. In terms of value it was well worth the money. And finally our Skipper Igor was excellent! He was extremely professional and provided a very safe sailing experience whilst also taking us to some amazing places that we would never had heard of otherwise. We have enjoyed some of the best food and wine in our lives and Croatia is such a beautiful place. Thank you to Miha, Igor and everyone else involved.

Miha at Active Cruises did a great job arranging our trip and was extremely patient given all the delays because of Corona. The boat was in great shape and the logistics of arrival and drop-off went smoothly. Much better than with some of the big charter companies. Captain Marin was not only a great captain but an excellent guide, entertainment director, and local custom expert. He also went above and beyond to track down lost luggage and pick up late arrivals. His expertise securing us a safe berth each night at minimum expense was invaluable. It saved us money and eliminated the unknown pitfalls of mooring in a strange harbor. Our best excursion was the E-bike (this turned out to be a great way to see the interior of the islands) tour in Bol. Overall it was a fantastic experience and one we would do again. And we would definitely use Active Cruises and get Marin as our captain!

It was a great adventure filled with good times and friendships. We spent time exploring and site seeing: cities, caves, ruins, viewpoints, and learning about the people, history, cultures of Croatia. From the boat we spent time enjoying peaceful sailing, or actively helping sail if you wished, swimming, reading, and playing cards as a group. For my wife and I, one of our favorite aspects of our trip was Captain Marin. Marin is such a caring and friendly person that really knew how to host all of us. Marin is very outgoing and docked us at great locations, planned wonderful excursions (like our bike ride on Lastovo), and made sure we ate at tasty restaurants. It seemed like Marin knew everyone every place we went. He was also fun to have a couple of drinks with at the end of the night. The guy is full of life and became a friend to all of us.

WOW! What a fantastic way to see the islands of Croatia! The boat was extremely spacious for four of us and carried us through some of the most beautiful islands we have sailed to date. Marin was our skipper and knew how to make each of us happy. We came over from the US and weren’t really familiar with the country, currency, language yet Marin made us feel safe and is now like family. He listened and kept each of us happy (let my husband sail as much as he wanted, taught my son how to sail and drive the dingy, set up adventures for myself and my sister in law)…it was PERFECT. He was present at the right moments and also gave us some privacy. The embrace my son gave him when we left was worth every penny! We can’t wait to sail with Marin again!

Our group of four adults had an absolutely amazing time traveling on the L43. The boat was fantastic, our skipper was amazing, and the sights along the way were breath-taking. The cabin and outdoor areas were spacious and comfortable. We were even impressed with the showers. We enjoyed cooking a few meals on the boat, but our skipper took us to the best restaurants on the islands at night. We swam in beautiful lagoons, relaxed on the sun deck, explored both historical and rarely-reached destinations, ate the best food Croatia had to offer, and had the time of our lives! We’ve traveled all over Europe, and hands-down, this was our favourite trip we’ve ever experienced. There is no way to discover this hidden gem of a country better than onboard the L43.

Igor was a FANTASTIC skipper to have on board and we had so much fun getting to know him! He showed us some amazing spots, let us learn as much as we wanted sailing, and made everyone feel safe and comfortable. We can’t imagine a better fit for our family, the trip wouldn’t have been the same with anyone else! Thank you Miha for the quick responses to all of our questions leading up and making the booking process so simple. Would 100% recommend!

Our family group of 6 had an amazing adventure aboard the Mala Kate cruising the islands. Our wonderful skipper, Igor, discussed various options with us and was able to tailor our sail to give us many special adventures like secret beaches, wine tasting in a cellar, biking and picturesque little towns. It’s wonderful to be able to adjust the itinerary and make it a special trip. Highly recommend!!
